How To Make Your Silver Fixtures Shine Like New
How To Make Your Silver Fixtures Shine Like New
My clients always ask me how I leave their sink faucets, tub spouts, and shower handles so sparking clean! It’s so incredibly simple! It’s a cheap and easy solution that works like a charm, every single time!
I proudly own a cleaning service in Fort Myers, Florida which means I have tried hundreds (not kidding) of polishing products and I have found the holy grail. Bar Keepers Friend Soft Cleanser!
Today, I will be walking you through the process of cleaning and polishing your bathroom sink faucets but, this process can work on any stainless steel fixtures!
Gather Your Cleaning Supplies
Before diving into the cleaning process, gather all the necessary supplies. Here’s a list of items you’ll need to clean your bathtub effectively:
- Bar Keeper’s Friend (Powder Cleanser or Soft Cleanser)
- A non-scratch sponge (I love using my Scrub Mommy sponge)
- Two microfiber towels.
Yep, I meant it when I said it was really simple! This is all you will need to get your faucets shining bright like diamonds!
Let’s Get To the Good Part
- Get sponge damp with warm water: The reason why I love Scour Mommy’s so much is because they are temperature controlled. Warm water allows the sponge to become softer, compressible and helps you avoid damaging the faucets finish.
- Wet the faucets surface: Lightly wet the faucets with warm water. Barkeepers Friend is not meant to be used on dry surfaces.
- Drizzle Barkeepers Friend on the sponge: It’s time to scrub away! You can start with the ResoFoam Sponge side of the Scrub Mommy to spread the cleanser all over the faucet. Don’t forget the back! You can use the Scrub Mommy’s eyes on the handles to make sure you get the every part nice and scrubbed. Then, switch over to the FlexTexture side of the Scrub Mommy to really scrub away the soap scum that tends to get all over.
- Rinse with warm water: Lightly rinse the faucet or use a damp microfiber towel to get any remaining residue off. Make sure to get in the nooks and crannies.
- Polish with a dry microfiber: Grab your second microfiber towel and start polishing the silver. If you want to leave it extra sparkly, feel free to use Sprayway’s Glass Cleaner!
